Picnic Ale

Cole and I had a lovely little picnic on Saturday afternoon! I've been dying for months to wear my Matilda saddle shoes, but the weather has been too awful to risk ruining them. It was so nice to be able to finally wear them out and about. They make me smile from ear to ear every time I look at them.

iPhone Photos: A Conversation with Charlaine Harris

We had such a wonderful time last night, well probably me more so than Cole. It was so wonderful hearing one of my favorite authors chat about her books and answer so many questions. It was a huge turn out and Cole and I sat up in the balcony where we were pretty much alone. Charlaine is a truly charming southern lady that looks more like your mom or grandmother than the type of person you'd expect to write such graphic books. She signed every single copy and was even sweet enough to pose for pictures. I spent the long wait in line chatting with two girls in front of me. We were all Eric fans and agreed that this season better rock. When my turn finally arrived, Charlaine thanked me for coming out and I told her that "I love, love, love your books" and she said "Well, thank you so much". Even her young assistant was really sweet (she took the photo of me and blinking Charlaine) and complimented me on my glasses and said she is looking for a similar pair, I said they're Oliver Peoples and the best! Overall, it was amazing and I can't thank Cole enough for taking me and putting up with all the crazy women.





...Before the event we ate at one of our favorite Ann Arbor restaurants, Jolly Pumpkin. If you ever go there, you must try the truffle fries! They are to die for.

Today is my darling's 31st birthday! He knows how much I absolutely adore him, so I won't get all mushy, but will simply say...I Love You.

So if you follow my twitter you might have read that our water heater broke yesterday! It pretty much interrupted all plans of an iPhone Photo post and took over our afternoon and night. Today, I bathed myself out of a pot of hot water while standing in the shower. To put it mildly, it was not pleasant. I then attempted to wash my hair in the sink and made puddles all over the floor. Thank goodness, I'm going to the salon today for a haircut and will at least have my top half looking ok.

A Valentine Picnic

Yesterday, Cole and I decided to celebrate our Valentine's day. It was quite a wonderful day from start to finish. Cole surprised me in the morning with a my favorite frappuccino and a delicious omelet in bed. After being lazy for a few hours, we could no longer stay indoors and miss out on such a lovely day. It was so sunny and warm that Cole suggested a picnic. We walked to the golf course near our place and had quite a lovely time sitting on a bed of needles beneath the trees. Many of you probably remember that we love going on champagne picnics and since it had been so long since our last one in September, I was just so glad to be able to sit there and take advantage of the weather.

The Bed and How to Make It by The Loved One

As promised, here is the sneak peek of the ever-so-lovely lingerie Cole bought me from Hannah and Elvia's shop, The Loved One. Cole knew I'd been dying for a piece ever since Hannah started posting photos on her blog and when I oh-so-subtly hinted (i.e. I sent him an email that read "buy this for yourself for Valentine's Day") that I would love to own The Bed and How to Make It, Cole took the hint.



The piece is beyond gorgeous and I feel quite transformed when I wear it with my black lacy thigh highs. Now, I just need to find myself an equally stunning vintage bra to match! Oh, and some lovely vintage satin bedroom slippers...

It was time for our weekly champagne picnic. Sadly, I wasn't feeling very well and didn't want to take any outfit photos. It's never fun when you can't enjoy champagne. But on the upside, my hair is finally getting long enough to braid.
