- No. I'm back on the hunt for a new recipe.
- It tastes DELICIOUS.
- Quick and simple to make.
- Even with tons of powdered sugar it's still very very runny.
- Melts right off cupcakes. (even after refrigerated)
- After adding ridiculous amounts of powdered sugar and the frosting still being runny I added flour, about 2/3 of a cup. At this time it became very thick, but was finally usable. (it still tasted delicious)
Vegan Chocolate Frosting.
(via: hubpages)
1/2 cup vegan margarine
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons soymilk
1/3 cup cocoa powder
a dash of salt
Soften the vegan margarine.
Using an electric mixer, cream the sugar into the softened margarine. Then add the vanilla extract, soymilk, cocoa powder, and salt. Mix well. If it is too thick, add a very small amount of soymilk, and if it is too thin, add more powdered sugar. Mix until the frosting is light and fluffy.
Overview:
Would I ever make it again?
see how runny?! the photo at the top of the entry shows what it looks like with my modifications. |
What to say...I love the flavor, it's the best tasting frosting ever. But it's just too runny and messy for cupcakes. Certainly if you don't mind frosting oozing everywhere, this is the stuff for you! It would be awesome as an ice cream topping, or to dip cookies in!
Of course I could have kept adding things and possibly eventually found the perfect mixture, but when I use a recipe, I want to follow it, not make up my own!
xoxo!
