This week I came across this home on Deco Dir and was immediately inspired. The artwork on the walls in this home really got me back in the mood to paint!





I LOVE art....and it's fascinating to see it on a large scale. Of course this is miniature in comparison to the artwork great artists like Picasso painted - those things THINGS were HUMONGOUS!!  I was lucky enough to stand in front of a few at the Getty & MOMA this year.

Photographer Highlight: Antoine Bootz

Photographer, Antoine Bootz is a fine art & commercial photographer. 
 

I always thought this was a cool job...going around to different cities or countries & shooting some of the PRETTIEST homes out there! He's originally from Paris, France but moved to NYC in the early 80's to pursue his career. 



It was a SMART move on his part as he is now a contributing photographer to some of the biggest magazines out there. Magazines such as House & Garden, Elle Décor, Martha Stewart Living, The NY Times Magazine, Metropolitan & more!  With a resume like that, you can't go wrong! Below are some of my favorite images from his site, enjoy!!

Plenty of Inspiration on Airspace...

Where do you go to gather inspiration for your home???
 
For me, I like to surf different home decor sites online or hit the bookstores & check out the latest magazines. 

But I swear....lately I've been hitting Airspace. It's a site that handles locations for the film and photographic industries...& it is has a TON of photos!
 



I'm sure several of you are familiar with Airspace but have you actually spent time looking through it?? 


Boy oh boy...I did that the other day & realized I was on there for almost 30 min!!! 


Well, I managed to pull out some amazing inspirational images!




















We all find INSPIRATION in different images for some reason, what I may like you may NOT.  But nonetheless...these are the images that really struck a cord with me!

















Perhaps it's because I have a DEEP DESIRE to start another DIY in my own home! Ever get that feeling...like you NEED to do something different in your home???

I think we'll be tackling my closet...there's a section that still hasn't been finished - believe it or not!!!!

J. Marx Atelier...(Made By Girl)

On this Friday, I bring you....

Jessica Marx runs a full service design company called J. Marx Atelier where she creates interesting, innovative, and thoughtful products and environments. She obviously has a great sense of style, always paying close ATTENTION TO DETAIL.... I love when designers have the ability pay attention to all the little things when designing a space. Very Important! PERFECTION!

I tend to do the same thing- it's something that takes skill & focus.  Jessica also writes a blog called, 'Life's Little Jems', mostly a lifestyle blog where she brings her readers daily inspiration from a designer's point of view! 























She's quite the entrepreneur, also opening an online shop by the same name, Life's Little Jems (The Shoppe).  How amazing are all the GOLD home accessories?!?

Kobie's Home in Australia...(Via Made By Girl)

How is everyone today? Tuesday is here & we have some great weather even though the wind is a bit crazy....how's the weather where you are?


Today I'm featuring Kobie's home. She's a blogger who lives all the way in Australia. Even though I've never visited AU, I have lots of Made By Girl customers who live there....So I'm very familiar with many parts of it!  Interestingly enough, Kobie SOLD her home on April 20th (about a week ago) so you're actually looking at the way she used to live....! 





She told me she describes her living style as modern & clean with a quirky edge!  She tends to look for interesting items to add to her home decor.  For me, I really love her courtyard especially the exposed brick walls....it looks so relaxing don't you think?

I'm back! Sorry for the sudden disappearing act on my part...I had family in town & wasn't able to concentrate on my work for too long! I swear, I feel so behind on everything now. So much for playing tourist! Ha!

Today... I bring you a super CUTE bedroom that belongs to a young girl named Luisa. The pics were mailed to me by Angela Varela Cunha, a Portuguese Interior Designer who reads my blog. I couldn't be happier with what I saw!  





I'm always CURIOUS how other designers from around the WORLD design & decorate a space.  I tend to notice some subtle differences in style, color & even furniture which is always interesting! How about you?  Notice any differences?

Jane's Home Tour...(Via Made By Girl)

This Friday, I'm featuring Jane's home....she blogs over at Modern Jane Blog where you can catch her writing about design, inspiration & renovation projects within her own home! Her place is cozy & simple with a few splashes of color. 

I enjoyed this tour, especially the way she adorned all the items on her mantle...the ceramics are especially pretty!  I LOVE ceramics, I have some lots of different ones on my office bookshelf,  I just can't get enough! Ceramics tend to fill in small spaces really well..or balance things out.


I noticed she placed only white accessories on her mantle...normally, I wouldn't have thought of adding only all white accessories, but it really works here. The bar area is another area I loved with the bottles of San Pellegrino...how about you?
