Plenty of Inspiration on Airspace...

Where do you go to gather inspiration for your home???
 
For me, I like to surf different home decor sites online or hit the bookstores & check out the latest magazines. 

But I swear....lately I've been hitting Airspace. It's a site that handles locations for the film and photographic industries...& it is has a TON of photos!
 



I'm sure several of you are familiar with Airspace but have you actually spent time looking through it?? 


Boy oh boy...I did that the other day & realized I was on there for almost 30 min!!! 


Well, I managed to pull out some amazing inspirational images!




















We all find INSPIRATION in different images for some reason, what I may like you may NOT.  But nonetheless...these are the images that really struck a cord with me!

















Perhaps it's because I have a DEEP DESIRE to start another DIY in my own home! Ever get that feeling...like you NEED to do something different in your home???

I think we'll be tackling my closet...there's a section that still hasn't been finished - believe it or not!!!!

Loving this new edition print from Colin Blakely that popped into my email today from the 20x200 folks. Blakely was a Winter 2007 Hot Shot and since then he's been an Aperture Portfolio Prize Runner-Up, and he has shown his work at Jen Bekman Gallery, Fotofest Houston, the Society for Contemporary Photography, the Pingyao International Photography Festival, the Griffin Museum of Photography and, earlier this year, at the Detroit Center for Contemporary Photography. Whew! All's we know is we like this!  (If I was getting it, I'd get a large format one and frame it without a mat). Check out the different sized prints (starting at $20) over here!

The New Gypsies by Iain McKell

The New Gypsies series of photographs by London based photographer Iain McKell are hauntingly fascinating. Iain spent the last ten years photographing various travelers from all walks of life who choose to seek out alternatives to western capitalist society by living simple and close to nature. The work is quite extraordinary. He will be showing in the Clic Gallery in NYC from August 29 - October 2 and also has a book out.

I took a spontaneous road trip with the girls this week (meeting up with Mac who was on a business trip) and the 80 degree weather and sitting by the pool for a few days is exactly what we needed. Up up and away...

My husband told me yesterday about the Up inspired house that they created for the upcoming National Geographic Show called, "How Hard Can It Be?" which debuts in the fall. Would you be brave enough to go for a ride in a real live Up House? The talented team launched the house on March 5th and it flew for about a hour, and they even broke some world records for flying really high. I personally wonder how they were able to land it, ha... isn't this awesome! I can't wait to see the show and this episode when it airs.
