Carter's Nursery....

When a woman has a baby, she also gets a chance to try out her decorating SKILLS. Nurseries are a BIG deal for first time moms..... not only is it a celebration of a NEW life, but a chance to make a space to accommodate the little one!

A fellow blogger named Jenny recently welcomed her baby boy Carter in July & put together a gorgeous baby retreat!

I'm flattered that she even included my Blu Raspberry Love candy print as part of the nursery scheme!  Jenny was also put together a wall of books inspired by Elizabeth Sullivan who did this really cool one for a client, which I posted about here.

You can see the slight similarity, except, Jenny's is done on a much smaller scale than Elizabeth's design. Some of my favorite part of this room are the cute little elephant curtains & of course the book shelf !!

Hope this post will serve as inspiration to you ladies about to have a baby & looking to decorate a nursery!

Behind-the-scenes at Petit Collage

styling by meg mateo ilasco and photography by marvin ilasco.

I like this behind-the-scenes shot for the image below from the photo shoot for Petit Collage's new fall catalog.  Proves you don't need a big studio to create such a great image.  Just the right lighting and one steady hand.  Love their new fall line of child wall décor and accessories by the way which I wrote about today over at Babble.

Nadia Shows Us Her Nursery...

I LOVE looking at nurseries. Even though I don't have any babies of my own, it's always nice to see how people decorate a NURSERY. I've never done it, but one thing I know is that nurseries are NOT what they used to be! I remember when women would choose a PINK room for a girl & a BLUE room for a boy - it was that simple. Nowadays, nursery decor has come a long way!

Moms-to-be are thinking OUT OF THE BOX for their newborn babies - they're deciding on unique color schemes, less Disney & more original artwork instead.

I've been blessed that my ABC customized kids print has been chosen as part of decor for so many kids rooms. In fact I'm definitely seeing A LOT more creativity when it comes to children's rooms & it's always nice to know that the children themselves may pick up on that.

In this post, I'm highlighting a little BOY'S nursery. It's by Nadia of House 36 blog and as you can see...... it's not your typical BLUE room.

So, what do you think? Do you prefer creativity in a kids room over the same ol' same ol??

A great book that I'd recommend for inspiration is Rooms For Kids by Susanna Salk & Kelly Wearstler. AND...Thank you Nadia!!

Luisa's Bedroom by Angela Cunha...(Via Made By Girl)

I'm back! Sorry for the sudden disappearing act on my part...I had family in town & wasn't able to concentrate on my work for too long! I swear, I feel so behind on everything now. So much for playing tourist! Ha!

However, thanks to all of you who commented on the GIVEAWAY (one post down) -it's not over yet so please enter. The WINNER will be selected on Monday April 25th!

Today... I bring you a super CUTE bedroom that belongs to a young girl named Luisa. The pics were mailed to me by Angela Varela Cunha, a Portuguese Interior Designer who reads my blog. I couldn't be happier with what I saw!

I'm always CURIOUS how other designers from around the WORLD design & decorate a space.  I tend to notice some subtle differences in style, color & even furniture which is always interesting! How about you?  Notice any differences?

Let her know what you like best & if it inspires you!

How cool are those pink striped walls??

Nursery by Kelsey...(Via Made By Girl)

Kelsey from Daisy Dreaming blog emailed me these super cute pics of her daughter's nursery- and didn't she do a great job? I also LOVED that she incorporated my Love Candy print in Tangerine, which you can get here if you like.

It's a great feeling to know that one of the 1ST words YOUR child may see will be the word "LOVE".

    thanks Kelsey!

Yvonne's Home Tour...(Via Made By Girl)

Welcome back - it's nice to say....but I still wish it was the weekend & that I was SUNBATHING on a beach somewhere....  That would be the best case scenario right now.  But till then, I'd like to share fellow blogger, Yvonne's home.

She blogs over at a super cute blog called Simply Yvonne and recently had a gorgeous baby, whose nursery you can spot below!  She's also a graphic designer & talented photographer....with all that talent, it's no wonder her home is so cute! Hope it inspires you on this Monday....

And what do you think of the nursery? Cute huh? I love the idea of hanging the baby clothing NEATLY along the wall and displayed openly in the room.

Nicole's California Home Tour Pt.1 ... (Via Made By Girl)

I'm super excited to let you inside the home of Nicole Davis who blogs over at, Me oh My.  I have blogged about Nicole's home before, but not to this extent. In fact, it's so amazing that this post will be 2 parts.

I'm certain you will gather INSPIRATION after viewing these pics, most of which were shot by photographer Ashlee Raubach , which I'm a big FAN of! It's funny because after looking at Nicole's beautiful California home, I was reminded of my own. It seems we have similar taste in things.

Below: her sofa was custom made from Sofa Craft. It's upholstered in a velvet fabric, which is what I'd like MY next sofa to be in....VELVET.

My favorite part of her decor is the BLACK powder room for guests, her gorgeous white kitchen with the BLING chandelier..... & of course I really love what she did in her daughter's room! The paint is PINK, but it's not foo foo pink - you know what I mean? It's a pink I could definitely live with.

The coolest powder room, all black with a DIY chandelier & gold plated mirror. This look feels very chic to me & would remind me of a hotel stay....

below: check out her chunky dining table by oly studio. I love it's unique features.

below: Nicole put together a wall with several framed photos & personal items belonging to her daughter. One item that caught my eye was the cute little bathing suit, what a great keepsake. Of course, I also adore the abstract artwork, I'm assuming her little girl painted it!

For those of you WONDERING...Nicole told me her daughter's room COLOR! It's Benjamin Moore Cool Lava - it's the prettiest coral PINK ever.

Stay tuned for part 2.....Thank you Nicole!!

So, tell me, what's your favorite part of Nicole's place?
