London Shop Tour: Drink, Shop & Do

A contributor post by Andrea from lotus events / Got Craft?

Drink, Shop & Do is a place to find cocktails (Drink), browse vintage home goods and handmade jewelry (Shop), and learn how to make a papier mâché monster or play musical bingo (Do). In an old Victorian bathhouse just moments from Kings Cross Station, Drink, Shop & Do is one part café, one part shop, and one part craft space.

Have you ever been to a shop and fallen in love with their furnishings only to realize that they are not for sale? Well, everything here *is* for sale. From the handmade goods at the front of the store to the sweets behind the counter to the tea and cake at the back to the serving ware and furniture!

Owners Kristie and Coralie have done a brillant job curating this space with car boot finds and an amazing line up of DIY workshops including notebook binding, fascinator making and vintage pin-up hair and makeup to name a few. Oh, and don’t miss out on their milkshakes! You had me at Nutella & Malt…

London Shop tour: Labour and Wait

A contributor post by Andrea from Lotus Events / Got Craft?

With my love for kitchen items and pretty, functional things for the home, I can truly say that Labour and Wait is one of my favourite shops in London. Situated in the heart of East London’s market district just off of Brick Lane, Labour and Wait opened in 2000 by Simon Watkins and Rachel Wythe Moran. From hardware to clothing, their philosophy is to select timeless products that celebrate functional design that will never be out of date. They seek makers from around the world that share the same aesthetic.

I’m swooning over the enamel kitchen bowls and coffee pots and the bath and body products from Couto in Portugal – just look at that packaging!
