Who knew plastic bottles could look rather cute?  With a little twine and a fun tag, I'm rather liking this little greenhouse effect.  Found via Pinterest.  Photographer not credited.

Pigeon Toe on Design Story

Recently, I've become more conscious of which objects I add to our living space.  My interests lie in seeking beautiful design, but also those objects that have an enduring quality, or lifespan; things that I won't want to give away after a few months . . . or even years.

Lisa Jones, and her lovely handcrafted Pigeon Toe ceramics fall right in line with my newly awakened sense of lasting style. Lisa's gorgeous collection of items combine simplicity, beauty, and a little surprise in an understated and elegant way. They're modern heirloom pieces which could easily fit into everyday life. This entire combination of goodness along with Lisa's sustainable vision is something rare, which makes Pigeon Toe that much more special.

As part of this fresh perspective, I'm thrilled to share that I have partnered with Design Story to curate a selection of my favorite things from Pigeon Toe. See all of my favorites and more on sale at Design Story for a week, or until they sell out. Sign up here to join (it is an amazing site!) and you will get an instant $10 credit.*

As you may know -- especially you design loving gurus, these handcrafted designer sales don't come around all too often which is exactly why I love Design Story you've heard me mention them before, right?! They are one of the hottest designer flash-sale sites online at the moment because they not only offer lower prices but do it with authenticity and substance.

The Pacific Northwest is where I'm itching to return so that I can stop by Portland and pop into the Pigeon Toe studio/shop. Who has been lucky enough to stop by? What are your thoughts about Pigeon Toe and Design Story?

*This post is part of a campaign with Design Story for Pigeon Toe these opinions are my own and I am super excited to support brands that I am passionate about. *fyi - I also get a small credit.

Gardening Print

Even though our weather is playing tricks on us lately, I am excited about planting some flowers and herbs in the next few days and this nice garden gear print by Heidi from Redcruiser jumped right out at me. See her other great garden, vegetable and fruit inspired art here.

Straight from the garden...

Guess what we had for lunch today...
CORN! Picked straight from our garden. It was all pretty wimpy looking. Nothing big like you'd buy at the store or from a stand on the side of the road (do they even have those where you guys live? There are LOTS of farmers around here who sell corn on the side of the road). All of the cobs were about the size or smaller than my hand.
    see? haha
But holy cow, that did not stop it from being absolutely scrumptious! It was the best corn ever. I'm so proud that it came from out garden. I cannot wait til more is done and ready for me to devour.

Our garden is doing pretty good! One of Kevin's work buddies told him "It's your first garden, nothing will grow, so don't get too excited". Ha! Proved him wrong.
squash, a pepper, a sunflower, tomatoes!
Everything is looking great, minus our pumpkins. They're looking pretty bad, most likely from the lack of rain (and uh, me forgetting to water them all the time). But there are a few growing!
I'm really hoping they do well, I want to try making a pumpkin pie with my own pumpkins. And if there's enough I want to make a pumpkins roll too!

Do you have a garden? How's it doing? If you have pictures of it, leave a link! I'm so curious what other people's gardens look like!
    xoxo

A new use...

Remember these mugs I found thrifting?
They've found the cutest new use!
I bought some succulents over the weekend but couldn't find any little pots for them. They desperately needed replanted. Then it hit me...MUGS! After trying a few methods without success I finally managed to break the handle off. (by banging it against the counter. ha! please be careful if you try that)

Don't they look so cute?! I don't think there could have been a more perfect thing for these succulents. I'm so lovin' my window garden!
And one more gardening related thing:
We picked out first tomato! I'm so excited, everything in our garden in getting so big.

    xoxo!
Last day to enter the giveaway, winner will be announced tomorrow!

Cactus!

You know what I forgot to mention?
The second flower on my cactus bloomed!!
The first one (blogged here) bloomed for two days and died. The second flower did the same thing! Now my cactus is flowerless. I plucked out the dead flowers (it's kind of drilled into my head, my mom is always bugging me about doing it to my petunias) and now there are little pocket type areas, it's pretty neat.
Sorry I keep going on and on about this darn cactus but I'm so intrigued by it! It seems to be doing fine in it's new pot in the window. It's still nice and firm, not squishy like the bottom part used to be.

Well I've gotta run, sorry for the short post, but it's still the weekend and there is thirfting to be done!
    xoxo.

PS. Don't forget to enter the giveaway!
