Montessorium Apps

Thanks to the tip from SwissMiss I bought this app called Intro to Letters by Montessorium yesterday for my iphone and three-year-old to use. It is a real breath of fresh air to come across educational programs that are so impeccably well-designed like this one. What a gorgeous app for kids! Montessorium also created an Intro to Math app and there is more to come - including a moveable alphabet app with sweet illustrations, yippee!

Google Envelopes

Not in the works yet, but this neat concept Google Map Envelopes designed by Rahul Mahtani & Yofred Molk, would be sweet to send out. If you look close in the images above you can see that you are able to track where you are sending your letter from and its destination all through g-mail -- how cool! (via Yanko Design)

Leica M7 Hermes

I doubt most of us could afford this lovely limited edition new Leica M7 Hermes edition camera which is about the price for an average car, but what a beautiful sight well-designed objects are to look at. These Leica babies can get very spendy like this one. Wow. How many of you have a Leica? Any model (on the more economical price point of their line) is pretty much on my long term wish list, they are so beautiful.

Palm Pre

The techy nerd in me is wondering if anyone is getting the Palm Pre that comes out tomorrow? I'm curious to see how it compares with the iphone, should be interesting because so far I've heard it has lots of fabulous features. Then again ... Apple may (key word "may") announce the new launch of their iphone next week too? Oh, the competition...

Besides the whole phone thing, I find it interesting the different ways that these companies position and market themselves. Palm is very open and forthcoming about their phone far in advance while Apple keeps things secretively hush-hush with a short pre-info launch time. Techy tech talk here.... Anyone else thinking about this?

Project Natal

I bet most of you who read this blog aren't into video games, oh believe me... neither am I, but when my husband shared with me this clip about Project Natal, which does more than just games, I was intrigued by where the level of technology is headed... Is this a little too much technology to have in your living room? Thoughts? Does anyone else think it is funny of how staged the actors in this clip are too, are they computer generated? Makes me laugh. Interactive to the extreme... or cool beans?
