Outfit Post : Sunday, September 19 + Apology

Okay, so before you get too riled up, let me just say that this is the exact same outfit I wore on Wednesday! Yes, only four days ago! I woke up and I just threw on something very easy (i.e: a dress thrown on a chair and a cardigan downstairs... it just happened to be the exact same outfit haha) I didn't even bother putting on makeup this morning OR doing my hair! As gross as it sounds, I definitely slept in my makeup after getting home from work at 2am and just wore it today! I even left my hair up in the high messy bun I worked/slept in! Gross Kaelah! (Whatever!)

Mike and I did some grocery shopping (so exciting!) and watched some tv. Then we headed out and about with no destination except adventure. We found a random part of town (way backwoods!) that we had never seen and we laid eyes on an amazing old abandoned house. The only downfall: the house was wayyyyyy way back in some ridiculously overgrown field of sorts and little did we know, it was full of pain! We pulled off into the field and set out. It was so hot and we took a wrong turn trying to walk there. We walked back down and headed up another way. Less than halfway up, the path ceased to exist. Most of the overgrowth was taller than me. How I didn't freak out about rattlesnakes, I'll never know! I trudged forth.. in my teensy dress and cardigan. By the time we got *almost* there, my legs were covered in blood and my clothes in burrs. We finally called off the hike when we were only about 100 feet away. We weren't sure if we could even get to it and it appeared a random passer-by was taking our license plate number so we hustled back down. Man, the hike back down was WAY worse than the hike up! I was sweating so much I couldn't see! I was in so much pain. I'll try to be a bit more prepared next time!

We did get some awesome Instax photos though! I'll share those soon! I'm only showing these photos because the scenery is truly beautiful. One reason I LOVE living in Tennessee!

dress: urban outfitters, cardigan: target, flats: kmart

Now onto a more serious note: I want to acknowledge the complaints that a few of us involved with the 'zine, Creative Juice, have received. Apparently some of you have received your 'zine and you're a little less than thrilled (read: you're pissed). I don't blame you. I can't speak from actual experience, but I have been given very solid claims of how poorly the 'zine came out. Please know that I had nothing to do with this. I was a contributing writer and a writer alone. I neither handled ANY of the design, nor did I deal with printing production or distribution. In fact, I haven't even seen it! A copy was never sent to me (which also upset me). I'm sorry that you spent $5 on something that ended up being so shoddy. I was simply directing complaints and refund requests to Justine as it was originally her project and she did the design/printing/distribution, but it seems that she has gone MIA on us and has deleted her twitter and her blog. I can't imagine that things have gotten that out of control but apparently they have. To my knowledge, no contributing writers have received any sort of monetary compensation (I haven't, at least!). I would refund your money myself had I ever even seen a penny of it. I merely hopped on board because it sounded like a fun thing to be involved in. If I ever would have known that things would have turned out the way they did, I never would have put my name to it. I'm truly embarrassed and apologetic for any of you who received something less than acceptable.

With that being said, I'm going to be sharing the DIY pieces that I contributed to the 'zine shortly! I know this doesn't do much for those of you who bought it, but hopefully I can have some other fun things in the near future! I hope you aren't upset with me for the sad turn in events!

Finally in NYC!

Sorry for the unforeseen hiatus around here! I was hoping that I'd have internet wherever we were staying on Friday night (some itty bitty ol interstate town in Virginia) but alas, I did not. I spent a good 2 solid days in the car and we had a blast. It was a long long long journey but we went spelunking, and to the National Aquarium in Baltimore. And we got to my new place in the city yesterday evening. Mike and I spent the last few hours of the night going to get things for my room (my AC is busted until at least Monday) so we're sweating up a storm. He's only here for a few days so rather than sit here and blog, we're going to go do stuff :D I'll try to have you a legit entry tonight ♥

    Thanks for sticking around!

    xoxo

A few things...

Okay... let me just get out a few things here..

    1. I appreciate all of the lovely comments and stuff involving the formspring crap, but i really need to say this because it's been bothering me all day... It was brought to my attention that several people in support of me (or in the support of not being judgemental) went to the girl's formspring and said rude things. Things along the lines of "you're ugly" "the bags under your eyes are gross" "you're gross" blah blah blah... You can't fight fire with fire! No one wins! The ONLY reason I brought it up in my blog was because several of my FormSpring followers got upset about what the girl had to say about me. I brought it to everyone's attention that i'm FINE! I'm okay, I'm not hurt by her remarks. It's so petty to go call someone ugly because she called me fat (especially when I'm trying to show that its rude to begin with). Pot meet Kettle.

    2. We can't expect everyone to like us.. People will find reasons to dislike you... even if it's something as trivial as your weight or what color hair you have or what kind of car you drive. There WILL be people that dislike you. You cannot appease everyone! So take kindly to those who support you 100% and respect their opinions... to everyone else, screw 'em!

    3. While I appreciate the anonymous army that is behind me, I don't want to fight with her via the internet or make it a big ol' hoopla of a fiasco! Rude remarks thrown her way will only make her more malicious towards me (and in the grand scheme of things, it dilutes the purity of being a kind person.).

    4. I should practice what I preach more often. Even today, I found myself in a situation where rude remarks were being made behind someone's back and while I'm friends with both parties, I chose to remove myself from the situation, thoroughly think it through, and decide a plan of action. I do NOT want to be that mean girl from high school again! That's not who I am. I literally wanted to start crying (even though I wasn't the one being badmouthed) because she saw the girls talking about her and she's such a sweet person, I really think she takes these kind of things to heart. While I didn't make any remarks like "ugly" or "gross" in the way of the girl who badmouthed me, I made assumptions that some would find to be a bit too quick on the draw. Granted, I'm allowed to have my opinion (and I do), and I'm allowed to voice said opinion (just like she), but I try to be a better person in the way of only stating fact. Rather than say I think SHE is ugly, physically, I can merely say I think she's ugly due to her personality, or lack thereof. Either way, I need to be better about not letting the high-school-mean-girl slip in regardless of who I'm around. By making said assumptions, or even posting them via the internet, I'm doing nothing but bringing myself to her level. I'm lowering my standards to play dirty with someone who I have no need to even acknowledge. Not only that, I'm degrading the value of my blog by abandoning my optimistic, kind-hearted view on life, to try and reciprocate erratic behavior that should never be tolerated. So to my readers, I'm sorry. I never want to mislead anyone in the way that I carry and portray myself. I apologize for anything that would make you think differently of me.

    5. This has been drawn out FAR too long. She has even gone as far as to leave "heyyyyyyyy gurllllll" in my formspring but I merely deleted it so no more attention will be drawn to her/her page. It's all about publicity... That's what she wants. So we won't give it to her. I'm going to go about my life and as should all of you. :) For someone who hates me so much, she sure spends a lot of time on my stuff (StatCounter, you rule!).

    6. To end this on a happy note... Check out my badass Shark backpack! It came in the mail yesterdayyyyy! $60 SOOOO well spent! (Btw, Morn Creations is an avid advocate for banning the want (I wont say need because they're NEVER actually "needed") for shark fin soup and the importing of shark fins in countries around the world. Please help support this cause! I'll blog more about it later!

It felt like the first day of school today and I was so so so excited to wear it! My 17" Macbook Pro BARELY fits (its very snug) but it's SO dreamy!
