iPhone Photos: Road Trip Finale

Our last night in Charleston ended with a delicious dinner at Poogan's Porch and then a walk around town...


...Then a hot day in Savannah, called for a pit stop at Belford's. I had the best peach sangria and of course we had to take 'travelers'...




...Our first night in Savannah, we stopped at Lulu's Chocolate Bar. Divine desserts and cocktails...


...I already mentioned our riverboat tour on the Georgia Queen, but I loved this photo...

...Before we left, we went to Bonaventure Cemetery and snapped some photos...


...Then came the long drive home- we drove from Georgia to South Carolina to North Carolina to Tennessee to Kentucky to Ohio to Michigan...





...Wellie really perked up when I told him we were back in Detroit!

...I'm so sorry things have been a bit quiet around here. I'm in the middle of getting my move organized. We're heading out to Minnesota June 1st and we still don't have a house finalized!!! Moving is so very stressful!

White Point Gardens, Charleston, SC

This was how last Monday looked in Charleston...

After enjoying a lovely breakfast at Baked (thank you for the suggestion Maggie & Rhiannon), we took a short drive to White Point Gardens. Such a pretty spot to sit in the shade and enjoy the afternoon breeze. I thought Michigan had beautiful trees, but I have to admit that the trees down South are so magical with their thick twisting branches and Spanish moss (which you will see tons of in our Savannah photos). Later that afternoon, we had lunch at the Fast & French (again suggested by Maggie & Rhiannon) which was so good!! Definitely our favorite restaurant from the trip!

Mabry Mill on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Virginia

Whew, I can't believe how long it's been since my last post! We are officially back from our trip, which means my blog is back in full swing! I can say wholeheartedly that the road trip was quite wonderful and I loved visiting both Charleston and Savannah! The only sad part was that we had to cut our trip short. We had planned on going to Atlanta, but because of all of the scary storms and the horrible death toll, we decided to play it safe and head on home.

We didn't take a ton of photos on the trip, but instead decided to play it low key and just live in the moment. Here is the first installment of photos from the beginning of our trip...


As we were winding our way through the Blue Ridge Parkway, we saw the sign for Mabry Mill and had to stop. The mill was closed, but the grounds were still open which gave us the chance to take some photos of the picturesque mill and surrounding buildings. It was a chilly, misty morning in Virginia, but it was still worth the stop! You can watch a little (slightly boring) travel video about the mill here.
