Motorcyclist, Wearing Helmet, Dies in Crash

Motorists should always make a safe turn and always check out the other lane for incoming vehicles that might be hit when they make the turn or when shifting lanes. This will prevent accidents from happening and will probably save you from paying up compensation for the said accident.

A 24-year-old motorcyclist was recently killed after he was hit by a vehicle that made a sudden left turn in front of him into a hospital parking lot. Andre Fernandez was said to be wearing a full-face helmet but was declared dead on the scene as he slammed into the car.

The accident was reported at around 9:20 am when Fernandez was riding a Honda CBR 600RR on the eastbound lanes of Audubon Drive when his sport bike was hit by a vehicle heading west.

This unfortunate motorcycle accident could have been prevented with cautiousness and alertness of the vehicle’s driver. He should have made sure that no one was on his path before he made that turn.

Another Look at Motorcycle Accidents

Is it so hard for drivers to remain vigilant on the roads? It seems that traffic regulations, traffic safety programs, and all kinds of safety warning signs on the road will never be enough to keep the roads of California accident-free. Even safety devices, like the seat belts or helmets, are taken for granted by drivers.
No wonder fatality rates among these motorists are still on the rise, despite all attempts of the government to reduce vehicle accidents. Amid these vehicle accidents, one of the most severe casualties are from motorcycle accidents.
Day after day, we hear of motor accidents on the news. Poor individuals suffer severe injuries because of being hit by other motorists. Let’s take the example of a motorcycle driver who was riding along Wilshire Blvd. when a car heading the opposite direction made a sudden and unsignaled left turn within a few feet away.
He was taken by surprise thus disabling him to avoid the incoming crash. In split seconds, he flew away from his motorcycle and plummeted onto the side of the road. He suffered second degree burns from brushing onto the pavement. He also sustained multiple cuts and bruises, along with broken bones on his arms and legs, and a dislocated shoulder.
Vehicle drivers need to be on guard at all times. They need to understand they may put other people’s lives in danger if they are not careful with their driving.
It is sad enough that many people lose their lives to these accidents. It is a much depressing thought that people who are responsible for these accidents seem apathetic about the pain and suffering they cause to the families of the individuals they have committed wrong to.

Gear Up and Roll Over

When I was a kid, my mom always told me to gear up properly if I want to ride my bike. Never did she permit me to travel across the highways along with those cars and other massive vehicles such as trucks. I found it annoying then… but that was more than twenty years ago when I have not yet completely understand the dangers of biking without the safety gears.
Now that I am already a California court lawyer who deals with various cases of personal injuries that involve road accidents, I am very much thankful that I feared my mom’s punishment for if not I may already be buried underneath the ground.
As a lawyer, I do believe that wearing safety stuffs to protect you from possible accident when biking is necessary. That is… even these gears are sometime irritating to wear. Unfortunately, more and more severely injured victims of motorcycle accidents are being rushed in hospitals but failed to escape from death. Most of them should have lived if only they have performed a strict precaution and wore safety gears like a helmet.
Up to this very moment, I am an avid motorcyclist. I enjoy the freedom that I feel whenever I am riding “Sophia” my big bike. However, I still fear the fact that I am still prone to accidents. Well, the least thing that I could do is to remember my mom’s words of warning – gear up properly and never ride on highways.
If may just ask, do you think it is disgusting for a lawyer like me to suffer an injury in a motorcycle crash? Who would handle my case then?
