How was your weekend? Mine had a slow start but then greatly improved after I picked up Cole at the airport on Saturday night. He was gone for a whole week in Spain and I missed him terribly! After he arrived we headed straight to Sweeney's for a drink and a basket of their delicious fries. Sunday, we went for a nice long drive up to Stillwater then to Taylors Falls. It was a perfect day spent enjoying the great outdoors. Had I known we would stop for a hike in Taylors Falls, I probably wouldn't have worn my Dear Creatures dress. People kept staring at me, which gave me the distinct impression that I was probably flashing them! Oh well.

iPhone Photos: a thrifting road trip

Things have been busy, busy, busy lately! My mom was in town visiting and just left yesterday and before that I was away on my Wisconsin thrifting road trip with John and Amanda! I already miss my mom so much and wish we didn't live so far away from each other again. My sadness is doubled since Cole left last weekend for a business trip to Barcelona and won't be back till Saturday. Sigh. Anyways, as these photos will show you, I had the most amazing time on my thrifting road trip! Wisconsin was so beautiful, John and Amanda were amazing and the thrifting gods were good! We all found so many treasures for our shops that it was a good thing I drove my Jeep. Even with the bigger trunk and backseat space, there was barely enough room for Amanda on the way home.

iPhone Photos: San Francisco & Napa

I know my absence has been scandalously long, but I haven't disappeared from the internet all together. I've been hanging out on Instagr.am, Pinterest and Tumblr which all make sharing fun tidbits so much quicker and easier than doing full-blown blog posts.


I'm finally getting around to posting my CA trip photos from two weeks ago. The trip was very quick and was all about meeting my sweet little baby nephew which means I did very little sightseeing and normal touristy things. Even though it was short, my trip was wonderful and I'm already planning on going back in November when Cole has a week long conference in the city. YAY! Below are the photos I took on my only day in SF where I met my sister for lunch at the Ferry Building and walked around the port...
















Then we drove off to Napa to spend two lovely nights just relaxing and hanging out...


















And then I was home again and greeted by my two little guys...

iPhone Photos: An afternoon in Stillwater, MN

After spending Sunday afternoon doing yard work, Cole and I decided to take a little jaunt to Stillwater, MN. I've been wanting to go for ages and sadly we picked a bad weekend since it was their annual Lumberjack Days (not as cool as it sounds). Anyway, we were still able to see the town and eat at a fun little diner that had delicious cheese curds, hamburgers and malts. I could seriously live in Stillwater with its steep hills that overlook the St. Croix river and charming town and I even found my house of dreams that we could totally afford if it wasn't a longer commute for Cole...
